Angel ica - Divine Support during Birth & Death

The angelica flower essence provides strength, love and compassion. It opens the heart to the possibilities of divine guidance during the most intense moments of the human experience. The name Angelica is peaceful and seemingly angel-ish. This is not a coincidence. It is an example of the doctrine of signatures, when the name and/or appearance of the flower reflect its healing properties.



Going Further: Mullein flower, another example of the doctrine of signatures, has a long stock and teeny yellow flowers. When parted down the center, Mullein looks just like a picture of the throat chakra mandala. Mullein is indicated for "speaking your truth."



Life and death meet full circle in nature. Destructive fire creates mineral rich soil in which to grow life. Each new chapter leaves a void or a 'death' of the phase that existed before. And so it goes.. but it is always intense. Angelica essence is indicated for mourning, and it can be ingested or put in a spray bottle of spring water (and essential oils too, if you are so inclined.) Every spritz or drop of essence brings your entire being a little closure to your true Self and the possibility that this too will pass. Palo Santo, or sacred wood, can also help, as it is grounding, calming and clears energy.



Smudging is the act of lighting the Palo Santo (or white sage or sweet grass or other) and waving it around one's space or oneself as to symbolically burn up any stagnant or negative energy. Shamans and Native Priests have been doing this for thousands of years, so it is worth a shot- but you have to be open and present for it to work.

Edward Bach

While Dr. Edward Bach is the pioneer of flower essences, many people don't know that he didn't want to be the end all. He destroyed many of his written accounts and pictures. He wanted the flowers to be the focus.

A talented Doctor in London in the 1930's, he paved the way for vibrational medicine as it is practiced all over the world today. Edward had several career shifts from traditional M.D. to homeopath to flower-o-path. A little background....

Homeopathic medicine is an energetic vaccine, if you will. Homeopathic remedies contain the energetic imprint of the disease they set out to cure. For example, the flu remedy contains a very dilute and minute amount of the flu in it. It is very interesting to note that the more dilute they are, the more powerful they become. This is a less is more concept- very difficult for us in Western Society to get our heads around. A really Rockin' homeopath can make magic happen as he or she chooses from thousands of remedies to make "lock and key" formulas to treat all kinds of ailments.

Bach ultimately applied homeopathy to flowers and would come to take the field of vibrational medicine to a whole new level with his Bach Flower Remedies. Instead of treating physical problems, these remedies mend and make whole the emotial layers. He harnassed the powers of flowers in a way that was subltle and powerful. His 1930's blends are the same ones found today on shelves in health stores all over the world. And while they are absolutely powerful, there is so much more available when we step outside the Bach's.

Spain and Dreams

When I was a teenager I lived in Spain. I quickly became enamored with the culture and the lifestyle. Although it has been seven years since my last visit, it still holds a special place in my heart- and in my dreams.

I now reside in Seattle, WA, a sweet city in the Pacific Northwest. I run a small business called EllaFlor which specializes in floral and vibrational essences. It is important to note that I have been working with the F.E.S. and Bach essences for many years, and they have deeply enhanced my dreams and my intuition.

All throughout the summer, my dreams were bringing me back to the cobble stoned streets that I used to walk (miles in very inappropriate high heeled boots, mind you.) I saw the sights and smelled the smells, and wondered how I had arrived without a passport? The dreams were very vivid. In one dream, we were driving to a home in a part of Spain I had never been before. We got out at a home where lovely people made us feel right at home, and I created a pink rose flower essence that made my heart burst open with light and joy. I woke up.

Would you believe a few months later, my dreams came true? My mom and I traveled to Spain in October 09, as she had won a contest sponsored by British Airways & Startup Nation. I contacted Madrid's flower essence Guru, and he invited us to his house in the mountains right outside of Madrid. Cue- twilight zone music here... He told me that I had also appeared to him in his dream, and he was waiting for my call.
